December 21, 1951 - February 24, 2021
Dave McLaren, aged 69 years, of Watrous and formerly Nokomis,SK passed away quietly at Watrous District Health Complex, Watrous, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
Dave is survived by his wife of 48 years Judy, their children Diane (Yves) Vanderauwera, Doug (Jill) McLaren, and Chris (Amy) McLaren, and their grandchildren Kaalyn, Kieran, Samantha, Tyson, Kylie, and Connor. He also leaves behind brother Keith (Annette) McLaren, and sisters Elaine (Ken) Wilson and Gwen (Glen) Kopp, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dave enjoyed hockey, golfing and family. He was a man of few words, but Dave is remembered for his quiet sense of humour and his gentle nature. He was the absolute best version of himself when he was with his grandchildren, whether they were piled on his lap or he was ferrying them around to hockey practice or dance. Driving was a joy and a passion for Dave. He enjoyed a good road trip and loved his job as the NH3 king at Blair's Fertilizer.
Dave's family would like to thank the staff at the Watrous District Health Complex for the care they provided during his time there.
The Celebration of Life for Dave (Memorial Service) will be held at Watrous United Church, Watrous, SK on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Private Family Interment in Simpson Cemetery. Our deepest condolences to Judy and family. I grew up with Dave and the Maclaren family as good friends and especially recall the years in the old Venn school. Dave loved to play shinny on any frozen surface, ball in the summer months and later in life took up golf. I will remember the moments we enjoyed together and how gentle of a spirit he was. May your memories help you find solace in this difficult time.
