Chris was born on April 23, 1967 in Neudorf Saskatchewan. He was the youngest son of Neil and Jean Hanson. The family moved to Watrous later that same year and this is where he stayed.

When Kathy came to Watrous for a job interview in May of 1988 one of the first people she met was Chris as he was employed at what was then the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Research Farm. They started dating later that month and were married in February of 1991. Together they have 3 beautiful daughters – Jessica, Sarah and Mackenna. Being an avid outdoorsman and real man’s man I am sure god was smiling as he blessed Chris with these three wonderful, strong willed ladies for him to guide on their way through life. He taught them all to hunt and fish and the value of hard work. He also taught them the importance of family and that a good hug was priceless. He was so proud of all his girls from their academic achievements to their success in many sports and of course their hunting and fishing success.

Chris obtained his journeyman’s as an electrician in 1998 and started working at Potash Corp Lanigan shortly after. He moved up the ladder quickly from electrician to electrical planner to hoist and shaft supervisor and eventually to maintenance superintendent. He switched to PCS Allan early in 2014 and continued his work as a maintenance superintendent. Chris made many good friends at both Lanigan and Allan.

Chris’s world was filled with nature He lived for hunting and fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He always put in 200% for any hunting season whether it was trying to find the big one for himself or his girls. He harvested numerous trophy walleye, whitetail and mule deer, moose, elk, Quebec caribou, Florida alligator and made 2 trips to Africa. He dreamed of taking a Cape Buffalo from Africa from the time he was a teenager and realized that dream in August of 2014.

Chris was larger than life. A best friend, wonderful father, devoted son and brother. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. Stealing a quote from his memorials "It was truly a privilege to work alongside you and a blessing to call you a friend".
