Obituary for Connie Sametts

October 7, 1944 - January 5, 2023
Connie Sametts, aged 78 years, of Watrous, SK, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Manitou Lodge on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
Connie was born in Tisdale, SK on October 7, 1944 to Clara and Clarence Frank. She grew up on a farm at Valparaiso and then Quill Lake. It was at Quill Lake where Connie met Elwyn Sametts and married in 1964. They had daughters Deborah and Gina, soon making their home in Young and Watrous area.
Connie enjoyed gardening, flowers, tending to their beautiful acreage, the addition of a green house business and involvement with the Farmers Market brought great pride. Always busy crocheting her famous "Grama Blankies". It was grandchildren who gave immense joy to her and were the highlight in Connie's life.
Connie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elwyn in 2002. Also by her parents, brother Larry Frank, mother in law Laura Sametts, brother and sister in laws Kirk and Shirley Sametts and Dennis Sametts.
Connie is survived by daughters Deborah Sametts (Bruce) and Gina (Jeff) Marshall.Grandchildren Jade (Billy) Collins, Joelle Elderkin (Riley), Kassidy Elderkin, Karter Elderkin, Arielle Green (Thomas) and Sage Marshall. Great grandchildren Nash, Zane, and Gage Collins and Vayda and Bexley Polegi. Cherished sister Donna (Jim) Rogal, Sister in laws Louise Frank, Dallas (Scotty) Tait and Sharon Sametts, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Gathering with a Celebration of Life for the extended family and friends will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Watrous Cemetery. Followed by socializing at Manitou Beach Community Hall.
