Obituary for Roger Langston

Roger Michael Langston
January 12, 1932 – February 18, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Roger Langston, after a short illness.

Roger was born on the family farm near Plunkett on January 12, 1932 to Charles and Myrtle Langston. He grew up on the farm 4 miles south of Plunkett attending school at Eltham and Plunkett, while also helping his father with farming responsibilities.

In his early 20’s, after taking a mechanic’s course he joined 2 of his brothers working in the garage in Spalding, SK. and several years later moved to Humboldt, SK to a position at Dust’s Auto Body. In 1966, he moved his family to Plunkett and pursued his passion for farming for the following 30 years. After retiring, Roger and Isabelle moved to Watrous.
His interests included coin collecting, fishing, curling, camping, playing cards with neighbours, and horseshoes. He was an active community member and would always offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed family gatherings and time with friends. He loved pancakes, ice cream, and any dessert.

Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Isabelle; his children Marilyn (Alan) Gordey, Earl (Lorrie) Langston, Donald (Darlene) Langston, Eric (Pam) Langston, Patricia (Kelly) Dale; along with 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Roger is survived by one sister, Maisie Sutherland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Myrtle; 3 brothers Keith, Louis and George and 2 sisters Madge and Marion.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Choudhary, the staff at Watrous Health Complex and Home Care staff, as well as friends for the care and support that Roger received.

For those so wishing, memorial donations to Telemiracle – Kinsmen Foundation would be appreciated.

The Funeral Service will be held at Watrous United Church, Watrous, Saskatchewan on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Private Family Interment in Plunkett Cemetery. For online condolences, tributes or memorial donations please visit: https://fotheringham-mcdougall.com/
