Obituary for Jim Taylor

TAYLOR: James E. (Jim)
May 2, 1943 – February 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. James (Jim) Taylor was born in Loon Lake, SK on May 2, 1943 to Edna and Clarence Taylor. Jim grew up in Meadow Lake, SK and graduated from Carpenter High School. At the age of 18, Jim left Meadow Lake and moved to Imperial SK for a couple years and then from there into the City of Regina. Jim had a successful career working for the City of Regina in the Water Department. He retired in 1998 after 31 years of service. After retiring from the City of Regina, Jim and Betty moved to various locations in Saskatchewan with the last 11 years being spent in Watrous, SK.

Jim was known to be a people person. He loved to visit and strike up a conversation with anyone who would listen. He loved to talk cars but most of all he loved to talk about family. He was so very proud of them. Dad’s favourite place on earth was Meadow Lake and he returned there as often as he could. He loved to camp in the beautiful parks of Meadow Lake.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Edna Taylor. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Betty; his daughters Tina (Mike) Salter, Shelley (Corey) Stamm, Tracey (Scott) Hendriks, Lorna (Troy) Wrobel, Fawn (Sheldon) Hagen, Janice (Matt Johnston) Taylor; and son Dickie Bear; along with 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his 2 brothers and 1 sister Chuck (Lorraine) Taylor; Earl (Verna) Taylor and Sandra (Wilfred) Kulczycki; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Meadow Lake SK in the summer of 2022. For online condolences, tributes or memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Jim please visit: https://fotheringham-mcdougall.com/
