Obituary for Lillian James

JAMES: Lillian
April 19, 1930 – January 3, 2021
The death of Lillian James, aged 90 years, formerly of Semans, SK occurred Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Last Mountain Pioneer Home, Strasbourg, SK. Lillian was born in Peace River, Alberta and raised mostly in British Columbia where her father went to find work. After finishing grade 10 she was employed in the B.C. land registry office for 3 1/2 years. On Dec. 30, 1948 she married Ivan James and that spring they moved to Semans and the farm, which became her new home. Here she and Ivan raised three sons while she found time to complete her grade 12 by correspondence and adult education. While helping on the farm, gardening, square dancing and teaching Sunday school, she managed to hold executive positions in several community organizations. After retiring from the farm, Ivan and Lillian moved to Semans and travelled over North America and abroad but her favourite place was always at home with family. Predeceased by husband Ivan (2001), son Eric (1970), sisters Audrey Danks, Marjorie French, and brother Eric Woolley she is survived by sister Ivy Rhodes (Allen), sisters in law Getra Nelson (James), Colleen (Eric) Woolley, brother in law Dale French, sons Stephen (Phyllis) and Tim (Kim), grandsons Ryan (Allie), Daniel (Megan), Tristan, Devon, Aiden, granddaughter Kristy (Jesse), great grandsons (and her pride and joy) Gavin and Jack. Her love, wisdom and kindness will be missed by all who knew her. For online condolences, tributes or memorial donations please visit https://fotheringham-mcdougall.com/
