Obituary for Arline McIntosh

McINTOSH: Arline
April 17, 1930 – October 15, 2020
We are sad to announce that Arline McIntosh passed away peacefully at the Manitou Lodge in the Watrous District Health Complex. She was 90 years old.
Born in Rosetown Saskatchewan to the late Oswald and Rita (Lahey) Schmitt, Arline attended St. Paul’s School of Nursing in Saskatoon. While there, she met her husband of 65 years, Orin, and moved with him to Carman, Manitoba and then to Watrous.
Arline was predeceased by her husband Orin McIntosh and sister Maryanne Maginel.
Deeply missed by her brothers Earl (Dot) and Pat (Carol) Schmitt, children Dianne Wilson (late Don), Dan (Carol), Brenda and Brian (Cathy), grandchildren Karen Siegfried (Jeff), Dale and Brent Wilson, Janelle Booth, Brady and Reid McIntosh, Ryan and Josh McIntosh and great grandchildren Jacob Siegfried, Hayden and Amaya Booth and many nephews and nieces.
Arline was a dear friend to a great many people in the community, often volunteering and providing comfort to others who were experiencing hardship. Her strong faith was a constant companion that served her well, right up to her passing.
She was also a loving mother who did so much for the family, including teaching respect and kindness to all the siblings by her actions alone. The kindness she exhibited throughout her life certainly rubbed off on all who embraced her friendship.
We recently overheard someone say that there would be a void left by Arline’s passing. Yes, we feel that void, but we also see Arline all the time in our laughter, our inherited behaviours and mostly in the love we have for all our friends and family.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at Fotheringham’s Funeral Chapel, Watrous, SK, at a later date. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please consider donating in her memory to the Manitou Lodge Activity Department, Box 130, Watrous, Saskatchewan S0K 4T0.
