Obituary for Anna Mary "Annie" Dengler (Schaan)

DENGLER: Anna Mary (Annie)

Mom was born on a farm in the Zelma district, the fourth of 12 brothers and sisters. When she was seven years old her father had a stroke and her family moved into Zelma, where she went to school. After completing her education, she went to work for Alex Murray. In 1939, she married William Dengler, starting a lifelong farming career. She was very involved in all aspects of the farm. She loved the outdoors, the animals and crop checking. She and dad were so proud to see their family working on the farm. There were times when five generations would be at the same field. Nothing could make her more proud. In 1999 due to dad‘s poor health she moved to a suite in Manitou Lodge to be close to him. After dad‘s passing in 2003, mom moved into a suite in Jubilee Court. She loved babies and nothing made her happier than spending time with each of her great great grandchildren. Mom remained independent until May 14, 2019 when she had a heart attack. On July 26th, she moved to Watrous District Health Complex where she received love and excellent care. She was happy and content there. We her family are so lucky to have had her with us for so long.

Annie is survived by 2 sons, Richard (Bernice) of Watrous and Don (Maureen) of Courtenay, BC; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren. For online condolences, tributes of to make a donation in her memory please visit fotheringham-mcdougall.com
