Evelyn Alice (Bartel) Friesen was born May 28, 1926 to David P. and Susanna (Boese) Bartel on a farm near Drake, SK. On October 14, 1943 Evelyn and Jacob P. Friesen were married. They had two boys, Ken and Herb Friesen. After 57 years of living on the farm, Jake and Evelyn moved into Drake. After Jake passed in 2008, Evelyn didn’t get to spend as much time on the farm that she loved. In November of 2017, a fall meant the move to Lanigan Hospital was necessary. Evelyn passed peacefully on November 3, 2019 at the Lanigan Hospital. The Funeral Service will be held in North Star Mennonite Church, Drake Saskatchewan on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Private Family Interment in North Star Cemetery.
