Obituary for Bernard Wolff

Bernard Paul Wolff passed away peacefully at Watrous District Health Complex with family by his side, on October 16, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born on the family farm, northeast of Liberty, on January 12, 1932. He married Doreen Dredge on November 12, 1955. They raised their three children on the family farm. Family was very important to Bernard. He was always willing to lend a hand with whatever project his kids had on the go. He also loved spending time with his 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Bernard farmed for 67 years, and was always willing to try new farming practices. When he wasn’t farming he enjoyed summers at the lake, fishing, hunting, wood working, and Rider games. He was also a very avid gardener and spent many hours keeping the garden weed free. In his younger years, he and Doreen loved curling, snowmobiling, skiing, and playing bridge, which eventually evolved into wintering in Yuma, Arizona for 25 years. Bernard was a man of faith and could be heard singing in church almost every Sunday. Amazing Grace was his favourite song. Bernard was also active on many boards and community projects. He was also famous for his margarita happy hours, homemade beer and wine, flax crackers, smoked fish, and of course, “The Recipe.”
Bernard was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Lewine Wolff; sisters Rose Baylis and Lewine Hughes, and brother Fr. James Wolff. He is survived by his wife, Doreen (Dredge) Wolff; children Diane (Terry) Busche, Larry (Leslie) Wolff, Barb (Larry) Hart; grandchildren Ashlyn (Chris) Schollar, Colby (Kim) Busche, Rogan (Jamie) Busche, Kinnon (Rhys) Spencer, Morgan (Brad) Wiggins, Andrew Wolff (Tiffany Blampied), Riley (Ashley) Hart, Britni Hart, Brennan Hart (Emma Anderson); great-grandchildren Hayden and Rail Schollar, Brea, Wynt and Atlee Busche, Beau and Ace Busche, Gannon, Brant, Collyns and Scotlyn Spencer, Levi Wiggins, Oaklyn Hart, Adelyn and Sadie Wallace; sisters Mary Williams and Joan Kirsch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
