Obituary for John Beattie

1933 – 2019
We are sad to announce that John Beattie, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed on September 22nd, 2019 at the age of 85.
John was born December 11, 1933 in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan to a family of ten siblings. He is survived by sisters Gladys Gold and Betty Campagne.
John was a respected civil servant with Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration, which took him to several communities throughout Saskatchewan. His love of community and commitment to serving others led to his involvement with the Kinsmen Club, Knights of Columbus and the local library. John's interests included family, travel, gardening and all sports, particularly golf and curling. He was well known for his ability to relay sports statistics, past and present, which brought delight to many.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Carmel and their children Michael, Wendy, Cathie and Paul; daughter-in-laws Sheila and Mel; his grandchildren Callais (Kyle), Dustin, Nikolas, McKenzie and Lucas and his great grandchild, sweet Cruise. John was preceded in death by his infant son Mark and his son-in-law Gordon. John will be lovingly remembered by his family and treasured friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prostate Cancer Canada or the Watrous-Manitou Beach Heritage Centre.
