Margaret Rae, aged 74 years, formerly of Imperial SK, passed away May 10, 2018 at Pasqua Hospital, Regina SK. Mom was born on July 22, 1943 to Arnold and Lillian Burkitt in Saskatoon, SK and was the third of four children. Mom grew up on the family farm east of Amazon and attended school in Amazon and Watrous. Mom spoke fondly of her early days on the farm, trips to town, and family time with her many relatives. Mom met the love of her life, Robbie Rae and in 1964 they were married and resided in Imperial SK. Mom was a stay at home housewife who kept her house meticulous all the while looking after their 4 boys. Mom always had a large vegetable garden and enjoyed countless hours tending her flowers. Mom was also crafty and innovative with many an idea to keep Robbie and the boys busy. Mom and Dad covered many miles supporting and encouraging the boys in their activities and later watching their grandchildren enjoy their activities. Mom and Dad had a special place at Etter’s Beach and enjoyed many summers with the boys and later with their families. This was a place where they could relax and sit in their “bug room” and enjoy visits from their children, grandchildren and friends. Dad passed away in 2014 and Mom remained in Imperial until her health forced her to leave the family home and move to Mutchmor Lodge in Regina in 2017. Mom is survived by her four sons, Dean (Shirley), Trent (Cindy), Steven (Charlene) and Michael, seven grandchildren; Carter, Katrina, Josh, Luke, Maria, Max and Ben. She is survived by her mother, Lil Burkitt, brother Gilbert (Gail) Burkitt, sister Eileen (Roy) Lamarsh. She is also survived by three brother-in-laws and three sister-in-laws Barb (Brian) Potts, Jim (Diana), Glen, Daryl (Debbie), Jean (Jim) and Judy (Dave) along with many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Robbie, father Arnold Burkitt, brother Don Burkitt, father and mother in-law George and Mary Rae and sister-in-law Lynn Rae. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Imperial SK on Friday, May 18, 2018 with Rev. Ray Purdie officiating. Private Family Interment in Imperial Cemetery.
