Condolence From: Marilyn Armstrong
Condolence: Dear Linda and Family, Just talked to my sister Delores whom was at the funeral yesterday. I live 5 hours fr Moose Jaw at Purple Springs, Ab so I was unable to make the funeral but my sister talked in Great detail about it - she luckily bumped into Ben over the years. Being 5 years younger than Del and moving to Drinkwater in 1969 - after which we did spend more time in Fife Lake but Ben would have been off to secondary school by then. I've often thought of Mom's family and have some memories of the Q'appelle reunion in about 1983? Our thoughts are with you Linda and your beautiful Family. Truly sorry to hear that the Hilderman's have lost an extra Special Man!! Sincerely Marilyn (Ron Cunningham's Lucky #7), Gerald & Family

Condolence From: Marg & Nick Schumacher
Condolence: We were so saddened to hear that Dr. Ben has left this life. He deserved a much longer retirement to pursue his dreams. He helped us in so many ways with our animals, most notably the German Shepherd that two vets had given us no hope for. Dr. Ben cured her, and she went on to live a long and happy life. Our sympathy goes out to all his family and the community as we mourn the loss of this fine man.

Condolence From: Donna & Larry Dewey Ft. McMurray, Alberta
Condolence: Remembering Ben and Linda when they arrived in 1966 and moved next door to the Engele's. Within days they were like members of the family and that closeness remains today. Ben was a dedicated professional with such a large area to cover, he worked hard and slept fast. Some of us friends would drive his car so he could rest, late at night, through unpassable roads to make calls for his customers. I also kept his vehicles in good shape while working at Mainline Motors whether during the day or a call late at night. Linda and family, we are not able to attend the "celebration of life" but our thoughts and prayers will be with you!

Condolence From: Howard Struthers
Condolence: Dear Linda and family, Very sorry to hear the news of Ben's recent passing. I first met him when he was a young veterinary student working for my father between his third and four year. I have nothing but respect for those students that came in and took over my father's very busy veterinary practice to allow him a couple of weeks off for the year. In particular, I remember that Ben had a vehicle accident that summer while we were away. He had suffered some minor injuries and I am sure that he must have been in some discomfort but to my recollection he never missed a day. Thinking back on that I thought he was made of pretty good stuff and was ready for the rigors of veterinary life. Please accept my most sincere condolences at this most difficult time.

Condolence From: Dr. Ken Habermehl
Condolence: Condolences to Linda, Paula, Andrea and rest of family at this time. So many great memories I have of your husband and father. Travelling with Ben on farm calls back in the late 60s and spending time with Ben at the clinic inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary Medicine. He was a great role model of being a solo many practitioner for so many of his years in business. Brother Norman also pursued the Veterinary Career. In the 1980s and 90s when we were in our busy practice years in Alberta we would often reflect back to "How would Ben Kessler Handle this type of problem we face right now". Gentle "Ben". Would never show emotion of anger or frustration while he was in Practice!!!! I cherish the great visit I had with Ben at his home last December on my way over to pick up heifers from Scott Blair family farm. A great Role Model in the Veterinary Profession.
