Obituary for Ron Isherwood

Ron Isherwood
October 9, 1946 - August 9, 2017

Ron Isherwood of Nokomis passed away peacefully at Lanigan Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born in Toronto, Ontario, and his parents moved to the Venn, SK. area when he was just a baby. His father was a teacher and later moved the family to Prince Albert, where Ron acquired most of his schooling. The family later moved to Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. where Ron finished high school.
In 1965, he met and married Sharon Strudwick and they settled on the farm near Nokomis where they enjoyed raising and showing quarter-horses. Ron also worked at several off-the-farm jobs during his working years, and spent more than 20 years driving truck for Blair’s. Ron enjoyed spending time with family, snowmobiling in winter, fishing in summer, being at the farm, working on his Saskatchewan Cemeteries Project, and doing genealogy research.
He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Anne (Murphy) Isherwood. Ron leaves to mourn; his wife of 51 years, Sharon; children Kim Oscienny; Clint (Dinah) Isherwood; grandsons Ethan Oscienny and Hudson Isherwood; siblings; Bill Isherwood, and Diane Isherwood.
At Ron's request there will be no funeral service. Cremation and private interment in Nokomis Cemetery will be held at a later date. Condolences to the family or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society can be made through fotheringham-mcdougall.com
