Obituary for Stanley Earl "Stan" Vance

Stanley Vance passed away June 17, 2013 with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer. Stan was born on December 24, 1939 to Harold and Ruby (Richards) Vance at Simpson, Sk. He was the second child of six children. He attended school in Imperial and then joined the Navy for a short term. After the Navy he moved to Saskatoon and worked as a carpenter. He met and married Judith Holt on July 2, 1960. After the birth of their first child Stan became a journeyman carpenter. They had four children and later moved to the Vance farm by Long Lake. Later moving to their current farm west of Stalwart. Stan worked very hard at farming and enjoyed his friends and neighbours. Later on Stan and Judy enjoyed being snowbirds and travelling to Weslaco Texas where they met many new friends. They became great shuffleboard players, winning many trophies. Left to cherish his memory and life are his loving wife Judy of 53 years and their four children, Becky ( Norman), Imperial, SK; Jody, Saskatoon, Sk; Penny (Dean), Biggar, Sk; Sheldon (Lisa), Imperial, SK ; 8 grandchildren Joslin, Jessica, Stephanie, Kelsey, Jennessa, Hailey, Cooper and Sydney; as well as his great grandchildren Kayden, Rylan, Paityn and Kylie; his sister Dorothy ( Colin), brother Norman (Glenna), sister Judy (Lyle), sister Beth (Jim). He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Ruby, stepmother Jean, brother Bert, son in law Grant and nephew Chris . A celebration if Stan's life will be held 2 pm Sunday June 23 at the Imperial Community Centre, Imperial, SK. Internment Imperial Cemetery.
