Obituary for Wayne Blair Martin

It is with heavy hearts the family of Wayne announces his passing at the Mazankowski Heart Institute in Edmonton on Sunday September 16 2018 at the age of 78 years.
Wayne was born October 10th, 1939 on the family farm south of Renown. He was the youngest of nine children born to Robert & Isobel Martin. He attended school in Renown and Watrous. He spent one year in Toronto taking a T.V. Electronics course and working at the T. Eaton Co., returning to Saskatoon to work on T.Vs. That lasted one year and then in 1959 he returned to the farm. Wayne farmed right up to his passing. He married Florence Vanthuyne in 1962. They had four children Lorie, Carla, Kerry and Darci.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert & Isobel; brothers Bob (Helen) and John (Beth); sisters Rhoda (Al), Ethel (Glenn) and brothers-in-law Gren Jones and Cal Ullyott; In-laws Harry & Helen, Robbie & Effie. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Florence; daughters Lorie, Carla (Darren) and Darci, and son Kerry (Shawna); six grandchildren Nicole (Nancy), Zachary, Jackson, Alicia, Lexi and Braxton; and one great grandson Mackenzie Blair, his pride & joy; sisters Muriel (Gordon) Spencer, Isobel Jones, Evelyn Ullyott and Kay (Clare) Cutler; In-laws Marlene Lockwood, Betty (Ron) McConnell, Dennis (Edith), Bing (Wendy), Glendon (Wendy), Ray (Louise), Lyndon (Marlene), George (Nancy), Jerry (Norma), Mona (John) Urkow, Keith (Cindy), Shelley (Rick), and Daryl (Sharon); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Watrous Civic Centre.
