BURKITT: Lily (Lil)

Nov. 3, 1914 – June 27, 2018

Mrs. Lily (Lil) Burkitt passed away at Long Lake Valley Integrated Facility in Imperial SK on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 at the age of 103 .

Lil was born November 3, 1914 in Log Valley Saskatchewan to Arthur and Francis Potts. She married Arnold Burkitt on October 26, 1937.

Lil and Arnold farmed for many years 2 ½ miles east of Amazon. Lil worked at the Watrous Hospital for many years, first as an aide and later in the sterilizing unit. She loved the work and the patients. They later retired to Watrous.

Mom enjoyed family gatherings and visits from family and friends. She loved gardening and tea with her grandchildren.

Lil is survived by her son Gilbert (Gail) of Simpson and her daughter Eileen (Roy) Lamarsh of Medicine Hat, Alberta; daughter-in-law Barb (Brian) Potts; 14 grandchildren – Rodney (Rhonda) Burkitt, Sharon Gust (Daryl Vanthuyne), Jim (Shannon) Burkitt, David Burkitt (Myra Back), Donna (Dean) Bartel, Deanie (Dale) McKay, Duane (Cathy) Burkitt, Doug (Cora) Burkitt, Dean (Shirley) Rae, Trent (Cindy) Rae, Steven (Charlene) Rae, Michael Rae, Scott (Shawna) Lamarsh and Danielle McFetridge; 32 great-grandchildren;13 great-great-grandchildren; sister Joan Burgess; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lil was predeceased by parents Arthur and Frances (Smith) Potts; son Don; daughter Margaret (Robbie Rae); brothers, Arthur (Barbara); Geoff (Edith) ; Dan (Marj.,Margariet ,Janet ) ;sisters Ivy (Al Cory) ;Nora (Ed ) Hebert ; Fred Burgess; brother and sister in-laws Lewis (Marg ) Burkitt; Ronald (Joan ) Burkitt; Isabel Burkitt; Evelyn Burkitt.
