Roger Dale Schmidt

Roger was born February 5, 1958 the third of five children, to Eleonora and Peter Schmidt of Drake, Saskatchewan.

He attended grade school at Drake Elementary and high school at Lanigan Central High.

After initially being employed for a few years as a bartender at the Lagana Hotel in Lanigan he tried his hand at various trades which took him to a number of different communities. He attained his Journeyman bricklayer certificate in 1992, the trade which he worked at for a number of years before making the switch to doing carpentry, roofing, and general renovations.

After a short battle with cancer, Roger was reunited with his father on December 11, 2016.

He is predeceased by his father Peter Schmidt and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Roger is survived by his mother Eleonora Schmidt, daughter Chalsey, Chalsey's mother Georgina, siblings Stuart Schmidt (Pat), Fern Schmidt, Tim Schmidt (Janine), Tony Schmidt (Cheryl) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service was held in Watrous Civic Center on Friday, December 16th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in North Star Cemetery at a later date .
