Obituary for
Ronald Kenneth "Ron" Klenk
Ronald Kenneth Klenk, age 62 years, passed away peacefully with family by his side, at the Long Lake Valley Integrated Health Care Facility in Imperial, on Saturday, March 12, 2016, due to a short battle with cancer.
Ron was born October 1, 1953, in Imperial, to Henry and Jeannette Klenk. He grew up on the family farm south of Imperial, and attended school in Imperial. He was an active farmer, and in the last 10 years, was employed by Blair's at Liberty.
Ron's greatest passions were his family and friends, hunting, fishing, golfing, and recently camping. Ron has been the Mayor of Imperial for almost 4 years, and town councillor for several years prior. He sat on numerous local Boards, including Chairman of the St. Pius X Catholic Church Board, Saskatchewan Highways and Infrastructure, Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and the local Co-op Board. He was a Firearm & Safety instructor for several years and was on the Board and an installer for the Imperial Cable System since it's inception. His town and community were very important to him, and he was always willing to help anyone.
Ron was predeceased by his daughter Kathy Klenk, parents Henry and Jeannette Klenk, uncle Frank Klenk, father-in-law Russell Kerr, brother-in-law Bob Kerr. He is survived by Marjorie, his loving wife of 41 years; his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Janette of Simpson; sister Dianne Kerr of Calgary; nieces Wanda Kerr of Bridesville, BC, Paula and Penny Kerr of Calgary, nephew Henry Kerr of Calgary; mother-in-law Isabelle Kerr of Weyburn; brothers-in-law Gary (Judy) Kerr of Abbotsford, BC, (neice Pamala and nephew Stephan), (nephew Craig (Crystal) Kerr of Regina; brother-in-law Dennis (Pat) Kerr of Weyburn, (nephews Todd & Trevor Kerr); one aunt Gertrude Newby of Maple Creek; one uncle Win Vanderloh of Medicine Hat; and numerous cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church in Imperial, on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:00 am, with interment in the Imperial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Long Lake Valley Integrated Health Care Facility.
