Obituary for
Arthur Reuben "Art" Punt
Art was born to John and Elizabeth Punt (nee McDonald) in Lloydminister, Alberta, on January 4, 1924. He was raised in Mornimount School District where he attended school. After completing his education, he worked for various farmers as a labourer. Art learned how to operate heavy equipment and worked for the R.M. of Dundurn. In 1983, he retired to Young, SK. Art and his friends often gathered to play cards and socialize. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Family gatherings were special times for him and his family. These resulted in plenty of good times and lots of laughter. Art also cherished his good friends. In 2005, As a result of failing eyesight, Art made the decision to move to Watrous. In 2006, he moved into Manitou Lodge. Art really enjoyed his life there. He loved helping out and visiting with everyone, especially the girls. Early in August, Art discovered his cancer had spread and he was admitted to Lanigan Hospital. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5th. Predeceased by his father John Punt (1957), mother Elizabeth (1984), sister Violet Punt (1986), brother Albert Punt (2001), brother-in-law Ray Holmes (1983), sister-in-law Marjorie Punt (2002). Art is survived by: sisters Evelyn Schotts, Enaith o’Soupe, Edna Holmes, and Hazel McGugan; brothers: Fred (Rose) Punt and Ken (Wanda) Punt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
